RuneScape PKing Guide

Pking on RuneScape is a great way of earning money but it can be difficult to start out with and you can actually lose gold. Pking stands for Playing Killing, and it only occurs in the wilderness where you can kill other players and take their items as loot. When you attack another played you become Skulled which means that if you get killed you lose all your items. A skull appears over your head and lasts for around 20 minutes and if you're killed in that time you lose your equipment and inventory items. However if you have 21 prayer you can use the Protect One Item prayer which allows you to keep your most valuable items.
There are lots of different types of Pking but most of the fighting usually occurs at Edgeville. This is because Edgeville is very close to the wilderness and it also has a bank so you can fight people, loot their items and quickly run back to the bank in Edgeville to safely store the items. Fighting does happen in other parts of the Wilderness but it's quite scarce because the Wilderness is a massive place and most people don't spend much time there at all. Fighting occurs predominantly in the West side at level 21 where the West Wilderness Dragon are. There's also fighting at the East Dragons spot at level 12 just north of the Dark mages on the far East side of the wilderness. Finally there's fighting at the Magic Bank which is very far into the wilderness at level 50.
You should be careful of going deep into the wilderness because the levels get progressively higher starting from level one all the way to level 55. Every level you go deeper means more people can fight your specific combat level. If you were combat level 60 and you went to level 10 then combat levels ranging from 50-70 could attack you. This means if you were to go all the way to the Magic Bank there would be a lot of higher levels that could attack you - it also means there are lots of lower levels you can attack! Still you need to be careful and only bring in items you're not scared of losing or that you can't afford to lose because it's very easy to get killed.
If you want to start Pking the best thing to do would be to go to Edgeville with no weapons and just watch fights to begin with. If you just go in there looking for a fight right away you're definitely going to get killed because there are lots of experienced PKers that really know what they're doing.
When you start to PK you need to make sure you have good gear, food to heal yourself, potions to boost how high you hit and most importantly a special attack weapon. You usually use your special attack weapon when your enemy has a low life points level. This is because they hit very high and much more accurately than none special attack weapons - but on the other hand most special attack weapons only allow you either 1-4 special attacks within an allotted amount of time, and this means that if you take it out and use it too early you risk wasting your special attacks and not being able to kill your opponent.
At low levels the classic dragon dagger is a good weapon to use, but as you get higher a Godsword, Dragon Claws or the Korasi's sword are very effective weapons.
With basic stat bonuses an Armadyl Godsword can hit around 650 life points, Dragon claws and Korasi's sword hit similar amounts. However Dragon Claws are much less accurate although they're much faster, and Korasi's sword works very well against melee armour because its special attack is counted as a magic attack and most melee defence armour actually have negative magic bonuses.
