What to Do If Your Game Is Too Scratched to Play

You have a game. It's scratched. What do you do?
Look, I'll be honest. There isn't much to do when these stuff happens but there might be something you can do.
The first thing you want to do is check your game's terms and conditions. Video game companies realize that at some point the game's disc will be scratched and you won't be able to play anymore. That's why most companies add to their terms and conditions the ability to burn one copy of the disc for backup purposes. if this is correct for your game than you can copy the disc with a burning software if you own one. Be sure to use the speed of 4x for the purposes of reading and copying the disc in order to prevent mistakes in the image created by your burning software. If you use a higher speed you are taking a risk to screw the copy and damage the original disc altogether. if you have the ability to verify the disc be sure to do so. You don't want to burn the disc and then one day, after your original disc is no longer useable, discover that your backup is also screwed.
Another thing to do is to check with the webpage of the company of the game if there is a downloadable digital version of your game. if there is, it's better to use it because after it is downloaded and installed you get to keep the installation file on a backup drive or a disc and the game itself will not require a disc.
If you have a friend who owns the same game, maybe you want to borrow the game for a day or two for the purpose of burning your legal backup copy.
if worst comes to worst, you might want to use a No-CD crack or patch. This is only advised if you have an original ownership of a game. I prefer to contact the support of the company. You'd be surprised how many solutions they can provide you with. They created the game, trust them to know how it works best and how to support you with it.
Most games nowadays are published with both a digital version and a disc version. The company whose game you bought would like you to keep playing their game. that is their interest. if you think that they won't help you it doesn't hurt to ask.
A last word of advice. If you have a disc drive with a history for screwing discs, do something about it. Nowadays it should not be expansive to buy a DVD drive which is also a disc burner.
I hope I've been helpful to all of you. Let me know if there is something you want to ask.
