Why the iPad Is Here to Stay

The iPad, launched in 2010, it took the entire world by storm, it was thinner, more elegant, and much more streamlined than any other tablet ever. The iPad was sold out in days, and when the hype was just starting to die down... BAMM the iPad 2 arrived, this one was even thinner, even lighter, and had a longer battery life.
What is the reason for all this success then? In my opinion it is a combination of things, but a the top of the list has the be usability. What I mean by this is: You walk into a shop with a Android Tablet and a iPad lined up, you decide to have a go on the Android Tablet, but after about 2 minutes of using it you get frustrated by the UI unfriendliness and the lack of simple controls. So you go and pick up the iPad, and you think "this is so easy, a grid with icons, and a big button to go back to the home screen!" In fact you could get a iPad and start using it if you are a 7 year old or a 70 year old, all within 2 minutes of getting it out the box for the first time, and this is without reading the instructions.
Another reason the iPad is so successful is the hardware behind it. As it has Apples own OS on it (iOS) it is very quick and responsive and has excellent battery life to boot. But with any other tablets, they be Windows or Android, is the fact this one OS (Android or Windows) has to be the same on every tablet, where as on the iPad it is a OS for 1 tablet, so Apple's software engineers can make the software work amazingly on the iPad's hardware.
The last reason is, put simply the iPad is famous, Obama to the Queen has one, every Celebrity has one, unless the have a contract with another tablet manufacturer. It is cool to have a iPad, the iPad is the kid with tons of friends, a cool car, and a hot girlfriend, where as the Android tablet is the, fairly cool guy, who thinks he is really cool but is not as cool as he thinks, and the Windows tablet is the Nerd. (Don't get me wrong, I love Windows, but a Windows tablet is really not cool)
All in all whether you like it or not, the iPad is here to stay, and it will be the best selling tablet unless Android or Google can really pull something special out the bag.
